Having sampled tempeh over the years in New York City, Montreal, Halifax and Vancouver it’s quite clear to me that Henry’s Tempeh is the winner because it is both appetizing to work with while subtle in taste, made rich with the simplest culinary skills.

As a physician who has made the switch to preventive medicine through nutrition I encourage all patients to incorporate tempeh into their diet. For the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes (“diabesity”) where increased protein requirements are required for weight loss, tempeh remains unsurpassed as a protein source.

Upcoming revisions to both Canada’s Food Guide and Healthy Eating and the equivalent U.S. Food pyramid will place tempeh in a unique and important position: it is simultaneously a healthier staple protein source (containing all 8 essential amino acids) than meat but without the triglyceride fat while providing significant fibre that is absent in meat.

As well, it is a food that is the perfect fit for the currently evolving, environmentally “green” paradigm shift because it is renewable without the extensive water depletion associated with raising livestock.

I have worked with Henry Schmidt at our weight loss clinic with a full spectrum of patients: the response has been so positive that Henry’s Tempeh is a regular stock item at our clinic.

It is for these reasons, along with the commitment to quality that I have observed in the developments of Henry’s Tempeh that I am committed to doing everything I can to see its progress into the mainstream food market.

Hello, my name is Kimberly and I am writing to tell you how much I like your tempeh. 

I recently went into Vincenzo's and noticed that they sold tempeh (yours) - which is not the easiest thing to find. I bought some and I loved it. Its great stuff and a nice change from regular tofu. I have been a vegetarian for about 8 years, and a vegan for about 4 years now. I remember when I first turned vegi, it was hard to find stuff to keep my diet high in protein and calcium. But it seems to be getting easier all the time, and now with your tempeh its awesome. I was happy to find soya ice cream in a natural food store, so much better than rice milk ice cream. It was one of those things I read about in my soya cook book but could never find, and now I will be a repeat customer. 

I noticed on the small pamphlet that I picked up, it says that you have more great recipes for tempeh, I would love to get them from you. I love to cook and try new recipes. My favorite that I got into is tofu pumpkin pie. But I would love to see and try out the recipes that you have...

Thanks so much for great tempeh. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that it is made locally, made me feel even better about buying it.
